TEHRAN -- Iran’s cultural attaché in Moscow Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman met with Alexander Golutva, the deputy minister of culture of the Russian Federation on Friday, the Persian service of IRNA reported.

Alexander Golutva requested the production of joint cinematic productions and said, “Russia has always followed the news on Iranian cinema and the international success of its cineastes.
“We have observed the great achievements of Iran’s cinema in international festivals and Moscow is willing to maintain increased contact with Iranian filmmakers. We are also willing to sign agreements on cinematic productions with Iran,” he stated.
He also warmly received Iran’s cultural attaché’s proposal for producing and screening Iranian movies, as well as holding joint film markets and said that Russia enjoys adequate facilities and sufficient funding for the project.
Abuzar Ebrahimi also gave a brief report on Iran’s cinema at the meeting and both sides agreed that Russia’s Ministry of Culture would prepare the text of a bilateral cooperation agreement for further studies.
